Mark your calendars for an extraordinary weekend of Argentine Tango! Monica Romero and Omar Ocampo - widely recognized across the globe simply as Los Ocampo - are true icons in the international dance community. With over 30 years of professional experience performing on the world's most prestigious theater stages and headlining major global festivals, they represent the absolute pinnacle of Argentine Tango artistry and cultural preservation.
Professional Profile & Philosophical Mastery
Los Ocampo are celebrated across continents for their incredible artistic versatility. They are elite masters of both the traditional, elegant Tango de Salón and the high-energy, dramatic Tango Escenario, as well as traditional Argentine Folkloric disciplines like Chacarera.
Their comprehensive teaching philosophy focuses deeply on the critical, core fundamentals of the dance form:
- Postural Framework: Developing an impeccable, balanced posture that allows for effortless movement and structural safety.
- Fluid Musicality: Understanding rhythm changes, instrumentation, and phrasing variations within classic tango orchestras.
- Clean Footwork: Training precise leg lines, fluid weight transfers, and stable ground contact dynamics.
- Profound Partner Connection: Cultivating a sensitive, communicative embrace between leader and follower on crowded social floors.
Global Dance Ambassadors
In addition to their global touring schedule, Monica and Omar serve as official judges for the annual World Tango Championships (Mundial de Tango) in Buenos Aires. This background allows them to bring an unparalleled level of historical knowledge, authenticity, and technical mastery to every single workshop session they lead.
